A CARER (also referred to as caregiver or family caregiver) is a person who takes on an unpaid caring role for someone who needs help because of a physical or cognitive condition, an injury or a chronic life-limiting illness.
EMPOWERING CAREGIVERS
Caregivers are experts in their own needs and caring roles – they provide unique perspectives on the issues that impact their own lives and the person they are caring for. At the same time, caregivers often grapple with constantly changing roles, grasping medical knowledge, emotional stress, financial strains, and changing family dynamics.
Empowering caregivers can be done in many ways. Explore the ways caregivers are empowered by building their skills or being recognized.
